Don't Fly Too Late @ Night

Hi,

We recently flew with our three children (only interstate)for the weekend.

We wanted to maximise our time at our destination, and thought it was fantastic when an airline was offering a flight at 9.30pm. We would have all day Sunday to enjoy ourselves and not have to worry about getting to the airport until after dinner.

So as we arrived to the airport everything was running smoothly, we checked in, and then there was the announcement, our flight was delayed by an hour.

The issues we encounted however, we feel we would have been faced with regardless of if we arrived back at our airport at 10.30pm or 11.30pm.

The kids all feel asleep on the way home. We had to wake two of them when the plane landed. Result being, we had to try and carry three young children back to the terminal. We then had to pick up five pieces of luggage, and carry all of this and hand luggage.

The kids who were all desperately tired did not want to walk, under the pressure we could not find where the car was parked which only made the kids more upset.

And to top it off, after arriving home at 2pm they did not sleep in the following morning. So after an action packed weekend and a very late and tiring experience flying home, everyone was exhausted for a week, which kind of takes away from the enjoyment of the weekend.

Next time we might just catch a flight before dinner time.
