GPS

(Australia)

Buy Yourself a GPS for your next car trip.

The amount of times that I have gotten lost and fought with my partner about it is ridiculous. I was sick and tired of reaching a destination in a bad mood, and by that stage the kids are probably picking up on our vibes and getting cranky too.

So, then comes the Navman. We bought that and find that we are all happy again. We set in the destination and suddenly the pressure of having to remember where to turn etc. has gone.

We can conversate on the way and enjoy one another's company.

The only real pitfall with the Navman is it sometimes sends us up the beaten track.

For example, we wanted to go to Emerald and we were on the main road, it told us to turn right and we did, leading us to a gravel road, so off we went following that for about 1-2kms. Then we came back out on a main road again.

It was at this point that my husband says "oh I think this is the same road we were already on".

On the way back we did not take the turn and sure enough, we turned off the main road onto the old gravel track for no apparent reason. According to the Navman it is because it is 'the shortest distance'.

So be careful of that, it can sometimes be a trap. But for the peace of mind and stress relief that we receive it is definately worth it.

I would recommend a GPS to any family, especially if you are traveling to a destination in which you do not have maps.
